About us

Our core values and mission

At Family Hope Charity, our primary mission is to support families in need in Morocco by providing essential baby supplies and children's clothing. We strive to make a tangible social impact by ensuring that these families receive the necessary items to care for their children and improve their quality of life.

To facilitate our efforts, we have established a network of social volonteers in Morocco who gather contact details of families in need. They identify these families either through the community or from their personal connections, ensuring that we reach those who require our assistance the most. Currently, we operate in the regions of Tetouan and Tangier, but we aim to expand our reach and help as many families as possible in the future.

In addition to our social goals, we are committed to promoting ecological sustainability. By reusing items that are still in good condition, we help reduce waste and encourage a more sustainable lifestyle. In industrialized nations, where fashion trends influence consumer behavior, people often purchase new products and discard them after just one child has used them, as they are quickly outgrown. Rather than allowing these perfectly usable items to be thrown away, we collect and redistribute them to those in need, extending their life cycle and minimizing environmental impact.

Our efforts are driven by a deep sense of community and responsibility, aiming to bridge the gap between excess and need. Join us in our mission to make a difference both socially and ecologically, creating a better world for our children and future generations.

Who we are

Family Hope Charity is a family-founded organization established by a bi-national couple, Maeva originally from France and Mohamed from Morocco, now both established in the Netherlands. We are blessed to have the invaluable support of our family in Morocco, who assist us in coordinating with the beneficiary families.

Below, you'll find introductions to our dedicated team members.

Maëva Jaber-Merrou

I have always fought against injustice and cared deeply about inequalities. As a young person, my motto was, "I hate injustice." Today, I am privileged to be in a position where I can help make a difference. By organizing and donating to people in need, I strive to make the world a fairer place.

At Family Hope Charity, I wear several hats. I handle communication, website design (working in the tech field makes this relatively easy for me), and oversee the entire donation process. This includes coordinating with donors, organizing pick-ups, and preparing packages for shipment to Morocco.

Mohamed Jaber-Merrou

Being born and raised in Morocco, I have personally witnessed the inequalities and hardships around me. Giving and sharing have always been part of my culture. Despite not having much, my family and I organized annual donations to the least fortunate families in Morocco. Now, as an adult and a father living in the Netherlands, I am more aware of the privileges I was given and feel a deep responsibility to support my community, especially families in need.

At Family Hope Charity, I am responsible for the heavy-duty tasks (😅), such as carrying large items and coordinating with transporters and families in Morocco to make sure the right donation goes to the right family based on their composition and needs.
